Alegra’s Story

Alegra was born on 19th September 2011. The most incredible little girl, loved by all. Loving, caring and the world’s best big sister and sharer. Sadly, on 7th October 2017, Alegra lost her battle with Brain Cancer at the age of 6, only 10 months after diagnosis.

She made it seem okay that this disease lurked inside her. Alegra never let it define her.

She went to school every day, swam, danced and attended gymnastics classes. All was going too well post-surgery and treatment; for reasons that all struggle to understand, things changed for Alegra so quickly.

She was promised more time here; 6 years are clearly not enough.

“It was not our choice to survive without you, so we choose to live and to honour you.” Dad & Mum xx

Little legs Foundation

The Little Legs Foundation (LLF) was created by Alegra’s parents, Sue-Ellen and Marino in honour of their daughter, to spread their message of hope and compassion. LLF believe that a single action can make a difference in the community and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through sharing their story and raising much-needed awareness and funds, the LLF team works each day to contribute their part to the ultimate goal of helping find a cure for childhood brain cancer.

To date, they have committed over $2.83 million to research through the Alegras Army Grant.
